M – The Next Generation – The Facts
Annex
M services are an extension of Tiscali's ADSL 2+ product
infrastructure, using Tiscali's technologically advanced Next
Generation Network. This advanced technology means that we will shortly
be able to offer an exciting new range of Annex M and SDSL (M) services
which include greater service options and a host of attractive
features, including:
• A service that behaves like traditional SDSL but uses
ADSL technology and costs a fraction of the price
• Higher guaranteed bandwidth for businesses
• A doubling of VoIP connections per company
• The opportunity to run multiple services such as
voice, video and other media over a single circuit.
These new Annex M services will be positioned to sit alongside our more
traditional broadband services, providing the option of; Pro and
Premium+ Enhanced Upstream variants. How does this work?
Annex M
extends the capability of ADSL 2+ by doubling the number of upstream
bits with a corresponding decrease in downstream, this means that
customers will be able to benefit from data rates as high as 16Mb
downstream and up to 2.5Mb upstream under
near perfect conditions*.
Another new addition and a market first, SDSL (M) is an SDSL-type
service delivered over ADSL infrastructure, enabling us to offer four
fixed symmetrical bandwidth 1:1 products; 512k, 1Mb, 1.5Mb and
2Mb.
All come with a range of advanced features including Enhanced Care,
guaranteed throughput and the potential to use low cost ADSL based CPE.
With prices starting from a very competitive £40/mth, SDSL (M) services
will be a perfect replacement for BT's traditional SDSL circuits where
costs are high.
FACTS:
48% of ADSL2+ users can expect >8Mb Downstream
10% of ADSL2+ users can expect >16Mb Downstream
60% of Annex M users can expect > 2Mb Upstream
66% of Annex M users can expect > 1.5Mb Upstream
75% of Annex M users can expect > 1Mb Upstream
Look out for these exciting new services over the
coming months!
